  4. Site Ranger is a shareware web site manager for the Macintosh.  It is NOT an HTML editor -- you must create and edit your pages with another program.  However, it provides excellent management of these files (IMHO).

A few notes before you get started.  First, if you're not at least passably familar with HTML, you'll need to learn.  You need to at least know how to insert comments in a web page.  If you're not familiar with HTML syntax, at least check your editor's documentation for info about inserting comments.  If you'd like to learn the basics of HTML, you can check out:

Second, Site Ranger requires either Anarchie or Fetch for site synchronization.  Site Ranger does not (yet) do TCP communications itself.  It uses Apple Events sent to one of these FTP clients to perform any site synchronization neccessary.  Also note that Site Ranger does not, in this implementation, synchronize the site folder on the hard drive with the server, only vice versa.  In the future, Site Ranger will be able to download changes from the server to allow for multiple editors working on the same site.

You can always get in touch with me with questions, comments, bug reports, etc at <ThomasReed@kagi.com>.  If you encounter a bug, PLEASE report it!  Don't assume someone else already has.  In my experience with other programs, some bugs that ought to be seen pretty frequently don't get reported for a while, and thus don't get fixed for a while.  Only by reporting bugs can you hope for a speedy fix!
